After several years of dedicated service as a paraprofessional at both Vista Grande and CG Union, Andrea “Andie” Ortega is beginning a new chapter this year as a co-teacher at Casa Grande Union High School. Andie has been recognized for her collaboration, commitment to learning, and dedication to student success. She actively seeks guidance, welcomes feedback, and continues to strengthen her skills while building strong relationships with colleagues and students. Her positive attitude and rockstar smile brighten each day and make a lasting impact on those around her. Thank you, Andie, for your dedication and commitment to growth. Last week, we were proud to recognize Ms. Ellyza Hardin, an ESS Rockstar Teacher from Vista Grande High School. Ellyza was nominated by her colleagues for her leadership, collaboration, and commitment to student success. She has championed universal accommodations, helping science teachers create more accessible learning environments for all students. Ellyza is also known for supporting ESS students and building strong, positive relationships with colleagues. Her willingness to collaborate, problem-solve, and support others reflects our district’s core value of equity. Thank you, Ellyza, for your dedication, leadership, and the positive impact you make every day! We are proud to celebrate you as an ESS Rockstar!

Students from PACE, Vista Grande, and Casa Grande Union had the opportunity to hear from Jade Gordon about the power of positive leadership and building strong, successful teams. Jade challenged students to focus on trust, communication, positivity, continuous improvement, and working toward a shared vision. Her message extended beyond athletics, reminding students and staff that these qualities can help create success in the classroom, careers, and life. Thank you, Jade, for inspiring our CGUHSD community to lead, encourage one another, and be the kind of teammate who makes everyone better!

Steven shared insight into his role with the city, the many different departments that work together to serve our community, and his educational journey, including earning a Master’s in Public Administration.
